Ultrasonic Array Matrix Switching Controller~The J331 Ultrasonic matrix array controller (UMAC) is designed for research and development applications using pulse-echo techniques, where multiple matrix paths are required. The UMAC allows two ultrasonic channels to be exclusively assigned to any of 256 possible routes.
Whilst originally developed for ultrasonic switching the unit is suitable for other lower frequency matrix experiments.
The UMAC can be expanded by the user as their research project grows. The minimum system can be a 16 switch matrix which can be increased in steps of 16 switches at any time up to the full capacity of 256.
The instrument is provided as a standalone 19" rack system which can be interfaced directly to investigation equipment such as the NDT Solutions Ltd 'EUI', for example. The UMAC is driven by a computer (not included) via a 10BaseT Ethernet link, running TCP/IP. Full software utilities are provided for driving the UMAC from the users own application programs. Examples of implementation are provided in BASIC and C.

UMAC 16 switch upgrade kit~A 2 into 16 switch PCB suitable for expanding the capability of the UMAC matrix array controller. These units are simple to fit and come supplied with all the necessary interface cables. A maximum system of up to 256 switches can be built as a user upgrade. (Note: and additional rack system is required if upgrading over 128 switches).
