ULTRASCAN hand-held spark and corona detection~The ULTRASCAN spark detector enables maintenance staff to work safely and to quickly locate the presence of arcing in electrical plant. It can identify system weakpoints requiring corrective action such as improved bonding or connection tightening, polishing coronating points, hot washing lines, replacing cracked insulators, and most faults related to damaged or degraded continuity.
ULTRASCAN is also used as a safety device in order to protect personnel prior to entering remote or cramped electrical areas such as transformers, behind switchboards or before entering remote buildings containing switchgear.
The unit is supplied in a carrying case along with a series of focussing attachments; a battery charger, earphones and full instructions.
Use of the instrument is simplicity itself - switch it on, press the calibration button, adjust the volume and then scan the area for the presence of sparking.
Sparks and other electrical discharges are identified by lights on the unit and by audible feedback in the earphones

ULTRASCAN headphones~ULTRASCAN detectors are normally supplied with earphones to allow the use of safety ear defenders over them. For industries and locations which are not so noisy then headphones provide enhanced comfort and noise rejection.

ULTRASCAN car charger~The car charger allows ULTRASCAN to be charged on the move, by using the car's power socket. This is particularly useful for remote locations or for service and maintenance engineers who work at remote sites for prolonged periods.
